Passenger statistics – June

In the past month, Katowice Airport handled 310 478 passengers, and in doing so, broke the previous record (which was 288 767 passengers) for the number of passengers handled at the airport in June.  This increase of 28 514 passengers means a growth of 10% in comparison to June 2013. In terms of charter traffic, Katowice Airport handled 152 519 passengers, which is 33% more (37 730 people) than in June last year.

The summer network of destinations available from Katowice Airport is the biggest in the airport's history. There are 80 routes in both regular and charter connections available. Katowice Airport as the Charter Centre for Southern Poland, offers 50 charter destinations to fifteen countries spanning three continents. This is the largest network of all of Poland's regional airports. The phenomenal sales of this year's holiday package tours, which includes ten new destinations, means that we can look forward to a highly successful summer and record-breaking passenger volumes for July and August.

This year, Katowice Airport will break its own record in terms of passenger volume. Forecasts suggest that the airport will handle around 2.7 million passengers this year, of which 900 000 will represent charter volume (approx. 760 000 passengers last year).
