Expansion of Wizz Air’s base at Katowice Airport


Wizz Air today announced its expansion at Katowice Airport. A fifth, 180-seater Airbus A320 will arrive 29 March 2015.

Coinciding with this addition, the carrier has launched a new service from Pyrzowice to Belfast. The route will be launched on Tuesday 31 March next year, and services will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Owing the the increase in aircraft based in Pyrzowice, from 29 March, 2015, Wizz Air will increase the weekly frequency of flights on existing servcices:

London-Luton (from 14 to 18) Oslo-Torp (from 5 to 7) Doncaster Sheffield (from 4 to 5) Malmo (from 3 to 4) Stavanger (from 2 to 3) Bergen (from 2 to 3) Stokholm Skavsta (from 2 to 3).

From 29 September, Wizz Air will offer flights to Glasgow (Scotland), twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays). In the winter season, these flights will be timetabled for Wednesdays and Sundays.

The second new service will be to Dutch, Maasticht-Aachen. Services will start 28 October. Flights will take place twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
