Passenger statistics - October 2012

In October this year, Katowice Airport handled 191 393 passengers in total - this is 3.1% fewer than in the same month last year. Charter traffic accounted for 47 145 passengers, which is 7.6% fewer than in the corresponding time period last year. This fall in volume was also noted on regularly scheduled services, which accounted for 141 138 passengers, 2.2% fewer than a year ago.

Ten months of 2012 have finishd and Katowice Airport has handled 2 271 576 passengers, which is 35 000 more than over the same time period in 2011. Comparing the period from the beginning of January to the end of October this year to the same period last year, the airport in Pyrzowice noted an increase of 4.7% in regular traffic, handling 1 515 521 passengers and a 3.6% fall in passengers travelling on organised holidays (charters) in the same time period. This year, 748 249 passengers have chosen this form of holiday flying out of Katowice Airport.

The Upper Silesian Aviation Group, which manages Katowice Airport, forecasts that 2.6 million passengers will have used Katowice Airport  by the end of this year.
