AN-124 Ruslan at Katowice Airport

One of the world's largest aircraft, an Antonov AN-124 Ruslan, landed at Katowice Airport on Monday 29 April, at around 4:30 pm. The aircraft arrived in Pyrzowice to pick up a superheater (a section of a boiler) weighing more than 60 tons. The device was manufactured at the Centre of Innovative Laser Technologies at Energoinstal S.A. After a whole night of complicated loading operations, the Ruslan took off from Katowice Airport to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday 30 April at 12:45pm. Visit the gallery to see photos.
