Three-millionth passenger at Katowice Airport

Monday 21st December saw the three-millionth passenger overall in the space of a year come through Katowice Airport for the first time in the airport's history. The special passenger was Ms Monika Dobrakowska, who flew in to Pyrzowice from London Luton on board a Wizz Air Airbus A320 aircraft.

The lucky passenger was greeted with a flash mob performed by the Dance4You troupe from Będzin, and was presented with gifts. Monika received, among others, two tickets to return tickets to any destination in Wizz Air's network from Katowice Airport. The airport's management, the Upper Silesian Aviation Group, presented a gift voucher worth 5000 PLN, and the free use of the Business Lounges, Fast Track and parking services. In addition, BMW dealer, Bavaria Motors presented the three-millionth passenger with  a voucher for the use of a BMW vehicle for a weekend.

2015 will be a record-breaking year in the history of the airport in Pyrzowice. The airport will handle 3.05 million passengers overall, which is around 360 000 more than in the previous year. With around 100 routes spanning both regularly-scheduled and charter services timetabled, the most extensive network thus far, Katowice Airport's result is set to be broken once again in 2016.
