Naples and Lanarka with Wizz Air

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central-Eastern Europe, is optimising its network from Katowice Airport.

Today, the airline has announced the launch of two new destinations from Katowice Airport - Naples and Lanarka.

Wizz Air's first flight from Katowice Airport to Naples is planned for 21 May. Flights will be operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Regular connections from Pyrzowice to Cyprus will begin 30 May. Wizz Air will operate flights to Lanarka once a week, on Thursdays.

With the reorganisation of its network, Wizz Air has announced the suspension of one of its least popular destinations from Katowice Airport, to Cork, Ireland. This is a result of weakening demand for this connection, which was previously popular with workers migrating to Ireland. Currently, the level of migration between Poland and Ireland has decreased by 40% in relation to the record set in 2007.

The new Wizz Air destinations offered from Katowice Airport to Naples and Lanarka, are not the only new connections in the airline's spring-summer network from Pyrzowice.

Wizz Air is launching a new  connection to Bergen in Norway from 28 March, which will be operated twice a week - Wednesdays and Sundays.

Saturday, 18 May, will see the launch of Wizz Air's inaugural flight to Kutaisi in Georgia. Flights on this route will be operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

There are currently 75 routes (35 regularly-scheduled and 39 charter connections) available as poart of Katowice Airport's network.
